World of Warcraft – Item Upgrading The upgrade option lets players increase the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items of armor can also be upgraded to boost their stats. This will increase the base defense of a chest or helm while belts and gloves can boost their strength and agility. Armor also has an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may roll back to a lower number. The upgrade template of a weapon will display the new stats it will gain after upgrading, along with the values of these stats. This means that an upgrade from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword would result in a weapon gaining an attack damage of 3. However, the 3% doesn't mean that it will hit 3 times less often as it is an absolute number. A weapon can also be rerolled using the green button with circular arrows within the menu for items. This will roll the item and alter its stats, however, it will not reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status. Armor A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison, curse, fire and magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. Upgrades are a less expensive alternative to buying a brand new trinket. It is possible to upgrade players for less than 12 tokens. The new trinket comes with the same level of base as the previous trinket but will also have an additional bonus of 1% upgrade. When the old Trinkets are no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold. In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This means that the top-in slot items for each class are first upgraded then their secondary gear and finally other pieces of equipment they will not replace anytime soon (such as an earring or a cloak).
